Behavior of Tourists and the Future of Middle Class Tourism: A Phenomenological Study of Sunan Giri and Sunan Drajat Tombs

The study using archeology and tourism approachs, restricts to two tombs of Wali Songo: Sunan Giri in Gresik and Sunan Drajat in Lamongan. Three things analized are: i) how behaviors of pilgrims, who mostly middle class, which threaten sustainability of this heritage site in the future, ii) to what extend the impact of behaviors of pilgrims to condition of cultural heritage there, iii) The ideal cultural heritage management that can be applied there. Data of this research collected by observation, interviews and secondary resources. This study results: Activities that tourist do there are tombs pilgrim, salat, iktikaf, and attending special ritual event. The duration of tomb pilgrim activity is different. Pilgrims perform various activities such as sitting against a headstone, allow their children to sit on top of the headstone, touching old gate, and put their footwear on tombs; Pilgrims activity caused the damages at the Sunan Giri on Courtyard II, Paduraksa Gate on courtyard III, fences tombs that utilized a place to put footwear, and the tombs in the courtyard I. While at the grave of Sunan Drajat, visitor activities caused the damage at courtyard III, especially in the gate and grave around main hall of Sunan Drajat tombs; The Ideal cultural heritage management in there for its sustainable according Law No. 11 Year 2010 is in three ways: i) protection, ii) development, and iii) utilization. The Effect of Teacher Competency and Teaching Commitment to Student Learning Results Machining Engineering Skills Program

This research is intended to find; (1) the influence of teachers on student learning outcomes; (2) the influence of commitment to student learning outcomes; And (3) the influence of teachers and commitment to student learning outcomes. The research population is all students of machining technique of Vocational High School 34 Jakarta and productive teacher, the sample is the 10th grade students of machining technique as many as 31 students and productive teachers as many as 12 people. The method in this research is survey method with associative approach. The study used secondary data technique with questionnaire; And primary data of learning result of even semester. Data analysis technique used is simple regression, multiple regression, and F test with significance level 0,05. The results showed; (1) there is a positive influence of teacher competence on student learning result F test of 17,15> Ftable 3,32 equal to 13,8%; (2) there is no positive effect on student learning outcomes test result Fcount 1.44> Ftable 3.32 of 1.6%; (3) there is a positive influence of teacher competence and learning commitment of student learning result of Fcount 5,65> Ftable 3,32, 31,02%.     Keywords: teacher competence, teaching commitment, student learning outcomes

Teknologi Pengolahan Gula Semut Aren pada Kelompok Tani di Kelurahan Penyengat Rendah Kota Jambi

Tanaman aren (Arenga pinata)  merupakan salah satu tanaman yang diusahakan oleh masyarakat Kelurahan Penyengat Rendah Kecamatan Telanaipura Jambi. Terdapat sekitar 100 pohon aren tersebar di kawasan wilayah ini. Selama ini, nira aren dijual petani ke tempat usaha pembuatan tuak dan sebagian lagi olah menjadi gula aren cetak.  Gula semut merupakan salah satu produk olahan nira aren yang berbentuk kristal yang memiliki harga lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan gula aren cetak. Tujuan  kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah agar   kelompok tani di Penyengat Rendah  memiliki ilmu pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengolah nira aren menjadi gula semut. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah Kelompok Wanita Tani Cherry dan Kelompok Tani Galusia di daerah Penyengat Rendah. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan demonstrasi pembuatan gula semut. Kegiatan berjalan dengan lancar dan kelompok tani telah  membuat gula semut secara mandiri dan menjual produknya ke konsumen
